Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Polish, including the Polish Chrome extension, website, API, support channels, and related services (collectively, "Polish", "we", "our", or the "Service"). By installing, accessing, purchasing, subscribing to, or using Polish, you agree to these Terms.
Developer and Contact
Polish is provided by the developer of the Polish Chrome extension. For legal, support, billing, privacy, or security questions, contact benbaler@gmail.com.
What Polish Does
Polish is an on-demand writing assistant. Its single purpose is to improve text you intentionally ask it to process for grammar, spelling, typos, punctuation, clarity, tone, and sentence flow. Polish works through a Chrome extension that reads the focused editor or selected text after you trigger the extension, sends the request through a Polish server, receives an AI-generated correction, and writes the corrected draft back into the editor where technically possible.
Polish is not a background keystroke monitor, not a general browser-monitoring product, not a professional legal, medical, financial, academic, immigration, employment, or compliance adviser, and not a substitute for your own review or judgment.
Eligibility
You may use Polish only if you can form a legally binding agreement and are permitted to use Chrome extensions and the websites where you choose to write. If you use Polish for a company, school, client, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to use Polish on that organization's behalf and that your use complies with that organization's rules.
Chrome Extension Permissions
Polish requests browser permissions needed to provide its writing-correction workflow across websites where users write. These include access to supported web pages, scripting, storage, context menus, clipboardRead, and clipboardWrite. Polish uses these permissions to detect the active editor, read user-triggered text, send the correction request, write text back, provide context-menu actions, store extension state, and support clipboard/manual-copy fallback flows in complex editors.
Your Content
"User Content" means text, selections, editor content, context, support messages, screenshots, or other material you submit to, process with, or intentionally provide to Polish. You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant Polish a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process, transmit, format, modify, display, and store User Content only as needed to provide, operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Polish as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for your User Content, for having the right to process it with Polish, and for deciding whether the corrected output is appropriate before you send, publish, submit, or rely on it.
AI Output
Polish uses AI systems to generate writing corrections. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate for your context, or different from your intended meaning. Polish is designed to preserve meaning and improve clarity, but you must review all output before using it. You are solely responsible for final text that you send, publish, submit, or otherwise use.
Do not rely on Polish output as professional advice or as the sole basis for decisions that could affect legal rights, health, finances, employment, education, immigration, safety, or other important interests.
Free Limits and Paid Access
Free use is subject to daily action limits, per-request character limits, abuse-prevention checks, duplicate-request controls, rate limits, server availability, and fair-use controls. The exact limits may vary by mode, configuration, deployment, or product tier and may be shown in the extension or enforced by the server.
Pro or paid access may remove normal free daily and character limits, but it remains subject to fair use, abuse-prevention controls, payment verification, provider limits, browser and website limits, technical availability, and these Terms. Polish may update limits, features, plan names, or access rules from time to time.
Subscriptions, Payments, and Seller Disclosure
Paid access is sold by Polish, not by Google. Google is not the seller of Polish subscriptions or paid features and is not responsible for Polish billing, refunds, support, or the Service.
Polish uses ExtensionPay to manage paid access and subscription state. ExtensionPay uses Stripe for payment processing. Payment pages may be hosted or operated by ExtensionPay and Stripe. Polish does not receive or store full payment card numbers.
Prices, billing periods, trials, renewal terms, taxes, and included paid features are shown in the payment flow or extension interface before purchase where applicable. By starting a paid subscription or trial, you authorize the applicable payment processor to charge the payment method you provide for recurring fees, taxes, and other amounts shown in the checkout flow until you cancel or the subscription otherwise ends.
Cancellation and Refunds
You can manage, restore, or cancel paid access through the extension settings and the ExtensionPay flow. Cancellation stops future subscription renewals after the current paid period according to the applicable payment-provider flow. Uninstalling the extension does not necessarily cancel an active subscription; you should cancel through the payment or ExtensionPay flow.
Refund requests are handled case by case. To request a refund, contact benbaler@gmail.com with the email address used for purchase, the approximate purchase date, and a short explanation. Unless required by applicable law or expressly stated in a checkout flow, past subscription fees are not automatically refunded after a billing period has begun. Polish may refuse refunds for abuse, excessive use, violation of these Terms, or requests that cannot be verified.
Account and Access Recovery
Paid access may depend on ExtensionPay account state, browser profile, Chrome extension storage, installation identity, and payment-provider status. If you reinstall the extension, change browsers, clear storage, or use a different Chrome profile, you may need to restore paid access through the extension settings or ExtensionPay login flow.
Acceptable Use
You may use Polish only for lawful writing-correction purposes. You may not use Polish to:
- violate any law, regulation, contract, policy, or third-party right;
- submit text you do not have the right to process with Polish;
- process passwords, payment card numbers, government identifiers, secrets, or highly sensitive information unless you intentionally choose to do so and accept the risk;
- generate, polish, or distribute unlawful, harassing, abusive, hateful, deceptive, infringing, exploitative, or harmful content;
- misrepresent AI output as human-authored where disclosure is legally, contractually, academically, or professionally required;
- cheat on exams, assignments, certifications, hiring processes, or other evaluations in violation of applicable rules;
- spam, phish, defraud, impersonate others, or manipulate reviews, ratings, or communications;
- abuse, overload, probe, scan, scrape, reverse engineer, bypass limits, rotate unauthorized identities, attack, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to Polish or its providers;
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works from Polish except as allowed by law or these Terms;
- use Polish in a way that could damage Polish, Google, ExtensionPay, Stripe, Cloudflare, Cerebras, users, websites, or third parties.
Third-Party Services and Websites
Polish operates inside websites and editors that are not owned or controlled by Polish. Those websites may change, block, break, log, store, or process text independently of Polish. Polish is not responsible for third-party websites, browser behavior, editor behavior, Chrome, the Chrome Web Store, Google services, ExtensionPay, Stripe, Cloudflare, Cerebras, internet providers, or other third-party services.
Your use of third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. You are responsible for complying with the terms of websites and services where you use Polish.
Privacy
Your use of Polish is also governed by the Polish Privacy Policy, available at https://polish-extension.pages.dev/privacy/. The Privacy Policy explains how Polish collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information, including text you choose to process, editor context, subscription state, usage records, and operational logs.
Changes to Polish
Polish may add, remove, suspend, limit, or change features, prompts, models, providers, limits, pricing, plans, availability, or user interface elements at any time. We may update the extension, website, server, API, security controls, or payment integration to improve functionality, comply with law or platform policies, reduce abuse, or maintain service reliability.
Availability and Changes
Polish is provided as available. AI services, browser APIs, payment services, Cloudflare Workers, D1, ExtensionPay, Stripe, Cerebras, Chrome, websites, and internet services can change, fail, slow down, or become unavailable. Polish does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, response time, specific output quality, compatibility with every website, or continued support for every editor.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Polish, block requests, revoke paid access, disable features, or refuse support if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk or liability, abused limits, attacked the Service, used fraudulent payment methods, caused operational harm, or used Polish unlawfully. You may stop using Polish at any time by uninstalling the extension and canceling any paid subscription through the applicable payment flow.
Intellectual Property
Polish, including the extension, website, software, prompts, workflows, design, branding, icons, and related materials, is owned by Polish or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, Polish grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension for personal or internal business writing correction. No rights are granted except those expressly stated in these Terms.
Feedback
If you send ideas, suggestions, bug reports, feature requests, screenshots, examples, or other feedback, you grant Polish permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided that Polish's use of personal information remains subject to the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Polish is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. Polish disclaims all warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, uninterrupted operation, error-free operation, and that output will meet your needs or preserve your intended meaning.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Polish and its developer, affiliates, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or lost-profit damages; loss of data; loss of goodwill; business interruption; substitute services; or claims arising from text you send, publish, submit, or rely on after using Polish.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Polish's total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Polish for the Service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $20. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some limitations may not apply to you.
Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Polish and its developer, affiliates, service providers, and licensors from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your User Content, your use of Polish, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, your violation of third-party rights, or text you send, publish, submit, or rely on after using Polish.
Export and Sanctions
You may not use Polish if you are barred from doing so under applicable export control, sanctions, or other laws. You may not use Polish in or for the benefit of embargoed countries, sanctioned parties, or prohibited end uses where doing so would violate applicable law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Polish, the Chrome Web Store, legal requirements, payment flows, or service providers change. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Polish after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using Polish and cancel any paid subscription.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the developer's operation of Polish, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local law requires otherwise. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact benbaler@gmail.com and try to resolve the dispute informally. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you cannot waive under applicable consumer protection law.
Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any checkout terms shown during purchase, are the entire agreement between you and Polish for the Service. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without consent. Polish may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction.
